John is a strong supporter of the Collaborative Practice, especially for divorces. He believes that for a majority of the divorces, it is possible to have the couple resolve their divorce issues without having to go through the stress and trauma of court motions, hearings, and a trial. This often results in a healthier post-divorce relationship, which can be very important when children are involved. John was involved in eastern Washington's first collaborative divorce case. He has continued this groundbreaking trend by being one of the most active collaborative divorce attorneys in the region, and no longer does adversarial (litigation) representation for divoce clients.
